Fall is in full swing with the arrival of October. This harvest month brings along some fun-filled holidays as well as the perfect opportunity to prepare for the colder months ahead. Checking all your home’s door and window weather-stripping for leaks will ensure your home stays warm throughout winter and will also keep your heating bills in check! Here are a few more Home Maintenance items to check off for this month:
- Clean or replace furnace filter, HRV or humidifier filter (if applicable)
- Check roof for missing shingles. If you live within a condominium, please notify your property manager regarding any missing shingles.
- Check doors for adjustments
- Turn off and blow out underground sprinkler system. If you live within a condominium, all lawn preparation is maintained by the property manager.
- Winterize landscaping. If you live within a condominium, all lawn preparation is maintained by the property manager.
- Clean range hood/OTR filter
- Drain water heater (refer to hot water tank maintenance)
- Take off exterior sump pump hose (install in April)
